The world is calling for Gryffindor

For a long time, I have regarded myself as a Ravenclaw, and those I admired most were the geniuses blessed with extraordinary intelligence. I was fascinated by the superhuman brilliance of people like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. Also, I believe that the Sorting Hat will place me to these house. However, II still believe that in these rideculious era.

And also, when I encounter problems, I tend to rely on wisdom, reasoning, and logic to find the correct answer. That is why I can understand why many students in Ravenclaw might not be eager to take part in the defence of Hogwarts. As ordinary people, we often choose to stay detached—“it’s none of my business”—rather than stepping in. We are always in pursuit of higher knowledge, yet we often lack the courage to act, and we are reluctant to go searching for it.

In a peaceful society, Ravenclaws are able to create the greatest value. They are intelligent enough, and their relentless thirst for wisdom drives them to contribute in unique and profound ways. Being a Ravenclaw is, in fact, the easier path. I admit that in some ways I am a coward, for in this world it has never been wisdom we lack, but courage.

Meanwhile, I do not believe that most people possess the kind of courage that belongs to Gryffindor. In that peculiar era, no one truly believed that rice could yield ten thousand jin per mu, yet even a Ravenclaw mind like Qian Xuesen’s would write papers to argue for its feasibility. Thus, for ordinary people, choosing to live as a Ravenclaw or a Hufflepuff has always been the more conventional path. We want to be a kind person and a wisdom person rather than a warriers.
